The Gaza-bound Asian aid convoy arrived in Tehran on Sunday. This convoy that is comprised of fifty peace activists and supporters of Palestine, started its journey from New Delhi, and is bound for Gaza through Rafah border crossing, after going through nine countries, with conveyance of the message of sympathy and empathy for the innocent and defenseless Palestinian population of Gaza. The Asian aid convoy, bound for Gaza, is part of efforts made to break the three-year siege of Gaza Strip, and it intends to deliver medicine, medical equipment, and two ambulances for Gaza's health centers. The Zionist regime of Israel has besieged Gaza for more than three years, in a bid to somehow undermine the democratically-elected Hamas-led government, and has led to emergence of a human crisis in this region, as a result of which the Palestinian population of this impoverished enclave has been deprived of many basic facilities, including medical treatment centers. Meanwhile, the UN expressed concerns last week about the immediate need of more than 80% of Gazans to international assistance for subsistence. But, despite all the ghastly crimes committed by Israel and the mounting pressures, the steadfastness of the Palestinian nation during the 22-Day holocaust unleashed by the Zionist regime against Gazans has shattered the fake grandeur of the Zionist regime, and has challenged the usurper Zionist regime and the US. The fact that, today, the Zionist regime is no longer an invincible monster, and the monopoly of the US and the West in decision-makings about Middle East has been broken, ushers in a bright and promising horizon for the Islamic Ummah. Meanwhile, undoubtedly, the empathy toward Palestinian people, and fulfillment of one's duty in assistance to Palestinian nation, are important factors that lead to continuation of this trend. Obviously, the international community expects resolute measures by global assemblies against the surging threats leveled by Israel, and in standing against the Zionist regime's crimes in Gaza. Israeli regime maintains no limits in commitment of crimes against humanity; and the massacre of innocent Palestinians in Gaza is a clear example of this deplorable fact. These grisly crimes continue while the international assemblies and organizations have remained silent in the face of the barbaric siege of more than 1.5 million Gazans. Meanwhile, the international community is eying Gaza and the fate of its Palestinian population, while considering future decisions about the fate of more than 1.5 million Gazans as a major test for the UN and the UN Security Council.
