Asian caravan to Jerusalem started its journey from Jakarta
On the occasion of starting of Asian caravan to Jerusalem from Jakarta, A number of organizations have held a joint-press conference at 9th March to declare their stand to the freedom of Jerusalem in Megawati Institute.
(Megawati Institute, Maarif Institute, The Indonesian Churches Association, MER-C, AWG, VOP, HASI, Dana Mustadafin Foundation, Viva Palestine Indonesia, Rasil 720 AM, FIM, I Love Muhammad, radioalfatah.com) have held a joint-press conference at 9th March to declare their stand to the freedom of Jerusalem in Megawati Institute.
The event was also attended by representatives from Malaysia Philippine and Palestine, Just before the departure of Indonesian, Malaysian and Philippine delegation towards Jerusalem as the "Asian caravan to Jerusalem". Support also came from the first commission of the Indonesian House of Representatives represented by Helmy Fauzi and the Council Consent of the Governed represented by Hajriyanto Y Tohari, as well as representatives of the Fellowship of Churches in Indonesia father Henry Lokra.
Hajriyanto Y Tohari said that the support for the independence of Palestine is Indonesian constitutional obligation as clearly stated in the first paragraph of the Indonesian constitution that occupation in the world must be abolished. The Indonesian’s consistent position that supports the independence of Palestine in various international forums is well known worldwide. “Unlike some Arab countries, we stay consistent until today by not opening any diplomatic relation with Israel. This brings pride to us as a nation, that even in some occasions, people of the Arab nations themselves have stated their awe to this consistency,” said Hajriyanto.
Meanwhile, the director of VOP Indonesia Ir. Mujtahid Hashem stated that Israel is a Zionist entity who widely shows every form of international law violation, who is a loyal follower of an apartheid policy, who is the pioneer of the world’s arrogance and greed, and that is why the world is challenge to stop it.
The event was opened by a statement by the pioneer of GMJ Indonesia dr Joserizal Jurnalis, Sp.OT who is also the presidium member of MER-C Indonesia.
The "Asian caravan to Jerusalem" will pass through India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Lebanon as well as Jordan to join the Global march to Jerusalem.
