The first Asian humanitarian aid convoy for Gaza which began its journey from New Delhi, India, earlier this month will enter Turkey from the Doğu Beyazıt Gürbulak border gate in the eastern province of Van on Dec. 17.

A special welcoming ceremony will be held for the convoy at the border gate. The activists will have a city tour in Van and spend the night at the Van Sports Hall. Then, they will move to Diyarbakır.

The Asian aid convoy arrived in Iranian capital of Tehran on Sunday and was joyfully greeted by the city's people and officials.

The activists in the convoy expect to enter Gaza through the Rafah Crossing after travelling through Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt. Contrary to what other convoys did, participants of the Asian aid convoy will complete their travel with buses in every country not with their private vehicles. The Turkey leg of the event will be hosted by the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation. The IHH will hold events in the cities the aid convoy will travel through.

The IHH plans to hold a big event in Diyarbakır. The activists will have a city tour and then gather at the İstasyon Square with the locals. Then, they will move to Gaziantep from Diyarbakır and then to Syria after participating in various events there.

If they face no obstacles, the activists will have arrived in Gaza on Dec. 27 which marks the second anniversary of Israeli attacks on the coastal enclave. You can follow the information about the destination of the Asian aid convoy and its Turkey program from the animation in our website.
